Essential Cooking Basics
Master ingredient prep, dish timers, and recipe flow to protect your combo meter.
Prep Like A Pro
Queue prep actions before the wave hits. Pre-chop, pre-grill, and pre-pour any ingredient with a long timer so you start each rush with buffers instead of empty stations.
- Color-code timers mentally: Prioritize red or low timers first, then medium, then fresh orders.
- Lock in a rhythm: Alternate between load station → serve → load station instead of over-serving one counter.
- Keep at least one spare portion: Never let key bases like buns, noodles, or sauces drop to zero during rush.
Reading Dish Timers
Every dish has a visible timer window. Your goal is to send plates out in the upper half of that window for maximum tips while avoiding burns.
- Tap between stations often rather than waiting on a single timer.
- When in doubt, save the combo even if it means one customer tip is slightly smaller.
- Reserve boosts for overlapping low timers, not just a single critical dish.
